Al-anon will fine. We all have the same problems, it's just that straight Al-Anoners don't have the alcohol allergy. We are (were) addicted to control, resentment, fear and other intangibles that made our lives miserable.
You know I have tried Al-Anon at various phases in my life Trudge and it never felt right for me. Then I tried COda too..same thing. BUT what does work for me is the litaiture.I love it.Perhaps it has to do with my living life now without the alcoholics but with all the questions and thirst for better understanding? Either way..I hope it worked for you the way you had hoped Trudge. Finding what works for each of us is all that matters at the end of the day..be true to you...your friend will find courage when she is ready. My blog is opened again..just needed to reprieve to reflect for abit..going through an intersting phase right now..one that includes really long comments like this..lol come on by for a cupcake anytime. xo
I know all about chickening out! I do that all the time when going to a new meeting ... sometimes it's scary to go alone. But you can do it when you need to! I hope you get to go next time :)
I have been to a few AlAnon meetings. It is strange getting use to it. Humbling to be "new" again. I read the meditations and they sooooo fit my life. I understand your chickenness though.
