I visited the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island for the first time a few years ago. I found it to be a very moving experience.

Fun.....got to visit with my son when he was in 8th grade....2002. They had the statue closed so we didn't get to go inside, but my daughter visited prior to 91101 and has a picture from the crown.
