  Sam Needs Your Prayers
Sam got tackled on the playground by a group of kids. The boy who tackled him and then sat on him, is the same boy who "accidentally" kicked him in the knee last Thursday.

I just got through E-mailing Sam's principal requesting a formal conference. Thank God bullying is no longer seen as a right of passage but rather, the offence that it is.

Comments:
Make sure, also, that you mention in your conference that your main concern in all of this isn't neccessarily the safety of your son, but the safety of all the children. If you make your argument in this way, the principal will be less likely to feel offended, or defensive, and might be more receptive to your ideas for resolution. I am just someone who came across your blog, and I hope that you are not offended by my unsolicited advice. I work quite a bit volunteering at my child's elementary school, and I come into alot of contact with school officials as well as parents. Feel free to visit my blog, as well, and leave any comments you wish. I wish you luck in your upcoming conference, and hope for a speedy resolution.

poor thing.. glad you are 'on the case'.
Are you familair with flower essences? I recommend them for shock/panic type situations. Im more familiar with austrailian than Bach. you can get them in cream form. i have found that they really work. on the rare occasions i have been injured i have used them to deal with the bodies natural 'shock/trauma' response. (not 'shock' the medical term' meaning loss of fluids) here's the links

and

they sell them in regular health food shops here. as far as i know they are pretty mainstream products.
anyway, you may know about stuff like that already. but i hope Sam feels better soon..im sure you will be being a fabulous aa mommy..

I hope this all works out well. It's unfortunate, but it's reality.
Prayers are done.

Does Sam's school have a bullying policy? If not I say get the School Board on one right away. Sam and you for that matter are always in my thoughts and prayers.
JJ

You and Sam are in my prayers. I am glad he has you to advocate for him. God Bless You.

I will be thinking of Sam. School days can be very scarey for a kid when you have a bully on your a**.
I'm with MC and would say that I am glad he has someone to advocate for him.
Peace,
Scout

Poor little guy. You know little guys like this grow up to be really strong people. It's great news that some action is happening here.

Of course you and your little angel are in my prayers.

OH that makes me so mad. I am praying for him. You are such a good mom...

I went to a really rough school in the early eighties and remember how rife bullying was there.
It can be a absolute nightmare I had only a few probs with one particular lad and it really got me down.
Sam is in my prayers too

Our nephew came and lived with us for about 4 months because of family "issues". While he was here we discovered his mom actually encourages him to "finish what someone else starts" (straight from her mouth) which he took to mean if another kid looked at him wrong, he needed to finish it with his dukes up.

GRR

Anyway we were so very grateful when people called us and nicely let us know what he was doing out of our sight. Only then were we able to effectivly put the kabosh on his attitude and as an added bonus convince his mother (for atleast the time being) of the mistake she was making with that attitude.

If this keeps up with this peticular boy, maybe get in touch with his parents and team up with them. It would be nice for boys to come through this as friends instead of always having a air of discomfort between them. But of course that only works if the other kids parents want it too.

Good luck on however you approach this. Poor Sam doens't deserve what he's getting from that kid.

Glad you are there and wise enough not to ignore the problem.

Bless you

Poor Sam! He's a cute kid! I hope it all works out smoothly.

ugh.I hate this part of us having kids Trudge.I know the feeling.

Poor guy....bullying is such a huge problem nowadays.
