  Ambulance Ride
The phone rang yesterday while I was waiting for Sam's school bus to arrive. It was the secretary from Sam's school saying that Sam had fallen while attempting to get off the school bus. I usually watch for the bus but, I was busy doing dishes and time had gotten away from me. She went on to say that, he had cut his head and the bus driver had called the ambulance. I put on my shoes, grabbed my jacket and ran to the end of the block where the bus was parked. There was Sam with an inch long gash along his eyebrow.

An ambulance ride and four hours later Sam is now the proud owner of a new teddy bear and five stitches. The teddy bear was from the paramedics and the stitches were from the emergency room doctor at Children's Hospital. After it was over, I was exhausted but, I realized I was no longer feeling that nameless faceless fear that I had earlier in the day.

Comments:
Poor Sam....poor Mom. Exhausted but not feeling that nameless fear is a good thing.

Oh Sam. I hope he is feeling better by now, and his mom is too.

I hope both Sam and Mom are feeling better today!!!

Dang, the perils of grade school. Glad the little tyke is okay.

I hope sam gets better, just been having a ding dong with Lukes school about his PE kit

Poor fella! I hope you both are doing ok!

;)

I'll bet Sam is proud of his first stitches....

Thanks for sharing....

Hahaa motorcyle mike, that is funny. I have a strange attraction to scars. They are really cool! Glad it is over. And what a wonderful way for Sam and Teddy to find each other!

oh jeesee..leave it to our children to put everything into perspective hey Trudge?!
Good to hear he isn't too seriously hurt..but that must have been pretty scary for him (and YOU) though.
Teddy bears rule.
Thanks for sharing~

Yes, that was it (re: fear). you have very good instincts. I'm so glad Sam is OK now.

Mike is right.
Those stitches are VERY important in the grand scheme of things. They will not be the last, either.

Glad to hear Sam is ok. We have a childrens hospital here too.. when Bayleigh burned her hand they gave her a Pooh Bear with a bandage on the same hand she had burned, it made her feel better...
Get better soon Sam!

Oh my. I hope all heals well. The ER dcotors told me that girls go for scars.

I hope Sam feels better, I know that place chidrens hospital to well. That is so scary and I am never Mr. Calm when that kind of shit happens..I am getting chills thinking about it.

How is Sam doing?

Pooor guy!

Also, your post about Fear couldn't hit more home. Hang in there... I am too!

Christie
