Kids and Cats: Better with Mustard

To me kids are like cats. In other words, I like the one I have but, I am not so fond of them in general. I always seem to forget this fact however and volunteer for stupid ass stuff involving kids. It is a Mom thing I guess.

This week I volunteering for Vacation Bible School. It my chance to nurture young minds ... you bet! I forget how annoying, needy and know-it-all kids are. I know I should be concerned for their imortal souls but really I just want them to stop bothering me. Come on Friday!

ya just gotta love honesty!! My kid is the bestest and most tolerable one out there too.... Hell, all we wanted was a puppy! HP has a sense of humor!

Yesterday, we took 30 middle school kids to do service work at the Adult Day Care, where most clients either have Alzheimer's, are stroke sufferers, or have some other adult disability. At the end of the day, the activities director looked at me and said, "How do you do it?" -- referring to working with kids. I was wondering the same thing about her working with all of the adults and caring for their needs. It was an amazing moment.
