Geez
Geez, the week really got away from me. First, my brother in law and his family were in town. Its the first time I have seen his kids since our wedding in 1994. It was also, the first time I met his new wife. Second, Sam and I spent the weekend at the annual Mother Cub Campout. I got to shoot a BB gun, how cool is that!
Saturday I am off on vacation, does anyone want to guest publish my Blog? JJ did an outstanding job last year. Although, there are still some stains I cannot get out of the carpet.

Vacation Bible School
Luscious LaJuana has asked me write about Vacation Bible School. Not much to say really, the week ended without incident. I was however, reminded of something a friend of mine used to say long before I ever had a child. "Kids," she said, "are designed to suck the brains right out of you." Yes, indeed they seem to be.

Kids and Cats: Better with MustardTo me kids are like cats. In other words, I like the one I have but, I am not so fond of them in general. I always seem to forget this fact however and volunteer for stupid ass stuff involving kids. It is a Mom thing I guess.
This week I volunteering for Vacation Bible School. It my chance to nurture young minds ... you bet! I forget how annoying, needy and know-it-all kids are. I know I should be concerned for their imortal souls but really I just want them to stop bothering me. Come on Friday!

Clang Clang
Chuck’s stepbrother Max was indicted by a federal grand jury a few months back. Around our house we call him Clang Clang Max.It is some extortion thing, I think. I don’t really know him; he is much older than Chuck and his brothers. I only have met him twice in the past fourteen years including one time at his Dad’s funeral. I have no idea if he did what he is charged with.
One thing I do know about him however, is when his first wife left him he went to A.A. for about a year. After he got his one year chip he announced that he was not an alcoholic and no longer needed to go to A.A. Like I said, I hardly know him and have no idea if Max is one of us or not.
I just learned that Max’s lawyer brokered a deal for him. He will get a year off his sentence if he says he is an alcoholic and attends A.A. while he is a guest of the federal prison system. I am glad that this is still a yet for me.

Mother in Law Advice
I had forgotten how much my mother in law loves to give advice. She even loves to give advice about things that have already happened.
For instance our dryer plug along with our dryer, for lack of a better term, "blew up" a few months ago. Ever since we have been trying to get our electrician over to fix it. No luck yet, we are small potatoes and way down on his list of priorities. I also tried to get some electricians I know from the program over to give us an estimate. So far not one has so much as darkened our door.
So anyhow, back to my mother in law. I was saying something about hanging our laundry on the line and she turns to me with this earnest and worried face and says."you know now would be the perfect time to have the dryer plug replaced." "You really should have it done while you have the money and the time," she added. Duh, you think Judy.
July 4th Hiatus
I am off to spend July 4 on the beach with my mother in law. All the while keeping my ear dry and eating pasta salad. My mother in law always gets me pasta salad because she thinks I like it. I don't why she thinks that but, I eat it anyway.

Gratitude
My internet keeps crashing, so I am going to try to be quickly grateful.
Several days of sunshine in a row
A morning spent running errands
Being able to get a prescription for my ear infection over the phone
