American Arrogance
In the past few days I have realized something about me that I never thought was true. I have realized that despite my impeccable liberal pedigree, I am arrogant American. I am not proud of this self realization.
As an arrogant American however, I rarely think of any place outside the U.S. In addition, I subconsciously believe that the United States is the epicenter of the entire world. Likewise on some level, I believe that the world does and should revolve around us. So who am I to criticize George W. Bush when on some level I do the same thing? ¶ 1/24/2006 08:49:00 AM

Having lived in many countries where America is NOT considered #1, I could write on this at length.
Maybe I will.
I certainly don't condone many actions taken by George Bush (and many other Presidents as well) but I must remember that at the core of it all, he is American and does what he feels is best for America. Just because I don't agree with it doesn't necessarily make it wrong.

I can't comment on this one because I am in such a "state" right now that I'd probably type something I didn't mean or type something so stupid it wouldn't make any sense. I love my country.
