  Lawyers, Guns and Money
In a Big Book meeting I attended last night, a woman shared that she keeps guns all over her house. She shared that although she has young children, she does not keep the guns locked up in case she needs to act quickly to protect her family. She also shared that her children’s social worker was at her house “pissing her off” but, the social worker did not know that she was within feet of a loaded gun. She laughed and I tried to figure out what guns had to do with what we had just read.

I have years in soberiety and I stilled don't know how to handle situations like this.

Comments:
Think I would stay clear of her house. It was great seeing you at the Houston Roundup this past weekend.

Hey Trudge... I know what you mean, we have a fella who will always, after a reading from the big book, will talk about fishing... nothing at all even the smallest glimpse of a metaphore... but will talk on about fish and fishing, I think if that part in the poem Desidarada listen even to the dull and ignorant, for they too have their story... we let him share for a few but after awhile (past five minutes) we gently remind him he is in an AA meeting, and sometimes he complies and sometime he doesnt... oh well...

How is the job searching going?

I was at the Houston Roundup? Well yes in spirit.

Where is Houston? Hows the job search..

Yes Trudge I saw your picture at the Houston round-up. You were there. Actually, I'm jealous.

Well, I'm glad to see children's services are already involved with this woman. Maybe someone should drop children's services a little note or make an anonymous telephone call.

What it has to do with a Big Book meeting...I haven't a clue but she sure sounds like she is in need or something more than AA. But being there for her is good good good. Don't get me wrong....I'm just very protective of children who can not speak up or defend themselves.

O.K. I'm going to shut up now. I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving and you shook your tail feathers.

What is the gun law in your state?
O.K. I'm really shutting up now.

I see you Trudge and I saw you at the round up - really I did
JJ

OMG...I made a big boo boo and it came up under a name I haven't used is eons.
O.K. now I'm shutting up.

Trudge, go here to see the evidence.

Sorry, that didnt work.

It WAS great seeing you at the Houston Roundup. I didn't notice you until Scott pointed to you.

There is a very good chance that before that woman's children leave home at 18, someone will be killed inside that home.

DUCK! What an honor to have you at the RoundUp! I'm saying a prayer for the kids.

J.J. - I agree that someone should drop a line to her child protection worker but, at this point I only know her first name. Damn that anonymity! I will keep an ear out and see if there is a place for me to SAFELY intervene. And Of Course we have a gun law this is liberal (but tightfisted) New England after all. This woman is not too into following the law.

HP- I agree with you. I told my husband that I sat there thinking I could be listening to a future story on 6:00 news top story. God protect those kids.
