Middle Age Stinks
You know, middle age stinks sometimes! This is especially ture when in your heart you feel about 23. Yesterday, I was handing out the soberiety medallions at a meeting and suddenly I realized I had to hold my army out about 75 feet to read the numbers on the chips. Afterwords my friend said,"you know I had to get bifocals at 42." Thanks alot!

You are right, middle age stinks. People are always trying to tell me to grow up. My mind says no but my body says listen to them.

My eyes began their downward spiral 2 years ago, at 49. Now I almost always need glasses to read. No big deal. Just another adjustment to make.
OMG...that is what is wrong with me. My eyes have been acting funny lately and I'm 43. Dang, I need glasses!

Those who needed glasses before crossing the big 4-0 line, probably handle the vision changes better. From needing none to that first step of reading glasses is one of those rites of passage and attitude adjustments that seemed difficult to me (not horribly so, just one of those things that pile up to make it 'clear' (ha) in case one might have tried to ignore the differences from being 23)... Then you reach the age I am now and find that varifocals are the only way to see.
